Happy Friday!
A few (busy) months ago I got the happiest of mails, courtesy of Prima Marketing. If you have been following me for a while, either through my blog or my social media, you may already know that Prima watercolors are my absolute go to when painting, both in my studio or on the go. And you may also know that they love spoiling me!
We have also collaborated on a collection of planner items (stickers and planner shakers) that you can check out right here.
As usual, let me start by stating that this post is not sponsored. They treated me to their products so I could play with them, and I wanted to write a thorough review for you guys so you can decide if these pan sets are a must have in your watercolor collection or not.
My second disclaimer is that the colors pictured in these pictures may look slightly different from what you see in person, this is due to the light in the pictures, and the different screen settings.

Happy mail
I felt like a kid in a candy shop upon opening the mailer.
Spoiler alert, these new sets are artist grade and super pigmented just like all their watercolor products that I’ve tried in the past.
Complexion Set
As a fashion illustrator, I was beyond excited to try this particular set. I have incorporated it to my daily selection of watercolors now. You can mix and match all these tones and achieve pretty much every complexion tone that your heart desires.
This set is not only great for skin tones, but it’s also awesome for rendering hair too.
{“Peach Cobbler” is the color that I use for most of my illustrations’ skin tones. I usually use “Cavern” and “Bear” to shade. “Lemonade” makes a great lip color}
I went ahead and picked five colors of the palette and colored the same face with them. You can read which color is which in the notes I wrote under each illustration.
A little side note, the color “Gold” is shimmery like gold 🙂
Woodlands Set
Love this set! I love the grays/neutrals it has. “Daylight” is a delight of a color!

Essence Set
My favorite tones are “Ponder” and “Emotion”. “Eternity” and “Nirvana” are so mermaidy!
{Pro tip: “Creation” is perfect for rendering denim.}
Yup, it’s mermaid time 🙂
Bonus review: Metallic Pastel Accents Watercolor set
I also got this gorgeous set in my package. It’s really hard to show the beauty of these iridescent/pearlescent/metallic colors in a picture.
This pan set is a great substitution for those who were heartbroken when Prima did not release the Celestial pan set.
I recommend storing this palette horizontally, as some colors may “melt”. (maybe that’s what you get for having a studio in South Florida lol)

Hope you all enjoyed the review. Are you getting any of the sets? Feel free to tell me and ask me any questions in the comment section.
Have a wonderful weekend. Thanks for reading!
